Saturday

A day off from both jobs equals nothing less than errand day. The list was long and intimidating so I knocked out 3/4ths of it from memory early this morning before I could really take in the whole thing. That last quarter doesn't seem so bad now that I actually look at it. But now that I'm sitting here having a beer, (sorry, Mike W.) I really just feel like putting on the Family Guy DVD and relaxing for the better part of the afternoon. A nap? Why sure, I could do that too! But I really need to get the place in order. Emily is coming up next weekend and it still looks like I just moved in here. I still have to finish painting and unpacking. Call me lazy, but I think Michael Keaton's character in Multiplicity had the right idea.
Netflix arriving early this coming week:
The Gene Krupa Story
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
Family Guy Season 1 Disc 2

I love movie suggestions. Seen anything good lately?

Tuesday

Remember a few months back when I threw the DVD player out the 2nd story window of my last apartment? I finally bought another one. It's one of those fancy-schmancy VCR combo dealies and I like it. A lot. And let me make one thing clear:

Dear Netflix,

I love you. Lets get married.

Waiting ever so patiently for Johnny Cash: The Man, His World, His Music, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, and The Sea is Watching,

Me
(with smoochies)

Well I really hope that you are having a better day than I am thus far. Honestly, I’ve [ring] never wanted to melt a telephone system more than I do [ring] right now. I was actually “not nice” to someone that called into the office today AND I do not feel bad about it. Ugh. Do I really HAVE to work until I’m 65? If I were doing something that I enjoyed, I wouldn’t mind at all. I don’t recall ever saying, “Hey Dad, I can’t wait to grow up so I can answer phones, fax things, and make coffee for status-seeking yuppies!”
In fact, I’ve never uttered those words.
Enough complaining. [ring]
Hirudin CDs. Check out the Hirudin site for ordering info if you like. Also be sure to check out the MySpace/Hirudin page. There are a few MP3 files there for your perusal. Feel free to drop us a message. We like those.

Thursday

Wow. My internet is actually staying ON for an extended period of time. Regardless, I really dislike Comcast and the service so far. i.e. I received my first bill, which was way more than I was expecting because of a previous balance. I find that really strange seeing as how it's my first month of service with them. Ever.
Really crappy day. By the way, I do realize I do a lot of bitching here. Probably because whenever I post I'm by myself and my thought cycle, which is mainly negative regarding certain things in my life, tends to run through the days/months/years events. Ever listen to Screeching Weasel's "Every Night" from Anthem For A New Tomorrow? It pretty much sums it up.
If you have the CD in you may as well listen to track 10. I always think of it when I ride the Belmont bus.

Friday

Bottom Lounge (1 blk W of Clark/Belmont) is where the rock is happenin’ tonight, so you should go. If we haven’t mentioned it 30 times by now, it’s our record release show and we’re happy as a bug in a rug. Or something like that. Oh, that’s snug. Can you get fired from your job for being weird? I’m sending off weirdo vibes in the office, I think, cause I’m getting strange looks. It’s fairly amusing, but threatening to my [virtually nonexistent] bank account.

8pm. We're up first.

Thursday

Dear UPS driver:

You've gone from rock star status to Pop star, then dropped down a bit to mall-touring pop star, then to American Idol star, to Showtime at the Apollo performer to your present status of smelly spoon-playin' guy at the Blue Line stop. Hurry up, please.

Impatiently sitting here,

Michael

Wednesday

So the records haven’t shown their beautiful li’l faces ‘round here as of yet. And they won’t until tomorrow. This totally reminds me of being younger and living in rural central IL. We had no skate shops in our town so we had to order EVERYTHING via Thrasher magazine. This made the UPS guy seem like a rock star or something. With one glimpse of a UPS truck our eyes would gloss over and “I wonder if my new board is in there…” would drive its way to the front of my thinking. And we’d wait. And wait. …And wait. Just like we’re doing right now. I guess it really doesn’t matter though as long as we have them by Friday morning.

On another note: Screw you, CTA!The next time one of your train conductors decides that instead of waiting for a bridge to come down, to stray from their color coded line onto a completely different one, tell no one and take everyone on the train with him, then proceed to kick all the passengers off at a stop no where near their destinations, and by doing so almost incite a riot right there on the platform, and make everyone including me late for work…your mother…

Tuesday

I’m sitting here at the office right now anxiously awaiting the delivery of 1000 copies of the Hirudin – Neither Created Nor Destroyed EP. I’ve never done something like this before, so as you might have guessed it’s pretty exciting. I just hope they arrive before I have to take off to coffee hell at 1pm!

The 80’s party was under whelming. At least until my 80’s mix hit the CD player. Thou shalt not doubt the power of a Mallen Mix Madness CD. Just do not. Over all, it was fun even though I was the only male, with the exception of Evan from Cunt Puppet, who bothered to dress for the occasion.

I’d better get back to doing nothing and waiting impatiently. Pretty boring here today…
